Babysitting Rates

In Denver, Colorado it seems like most people are paying $8-$10/hour for High School babysitters and $12-$15/hour for more experienced babysitters (e.g., experienced Nannies, nurses and teachers who babysit on the side).

Most people I know say they pay slightly more for each additional child. So, if you have been paying $10 per hour for one child, you might want to pay $12-$13 if you now have 2 children.

Where do you live and what do you pay per hour for babysitting? And what type of sitter are you referring to? Highschool? Nanny? How many kids?

Babysitting Rates by City

1) Denver Colorado: Highschool, $8-$10/hour (one child)

2) Denver Colorado: Nanny/nurse/teacher, $12-$15/hour (one child)

3) Our 13 year old son, certified Red Cross Babysitter - $5 / hr - Golden, CO

4) Westchester County, NY: $15/hr, usually college graduate, 2 kids (3 & 5).

5) In the SF Bay area, I pay a college student approx. $10-12 for one, $13-15 for two, and $15-18 for three children. This can vary slightly and would be higher for nannies and lower for high school students.
